Christmas Wreath

I love Christmas time! I have been hounding my husband for 2 weeks to let me put up our Christmas tree, but he insisted that I wait until after Thanksgiving. (The tree will be up on Thursday, then!!) I did put up some of the other Christmas-themed decor this weekend, though, including this little wreath. I love the mesh I found at Porter's and it went together relatively easily. One thing's for sure - I need to paint my front door this spring!

What I Did This Weekend...

I was feeling a little crafty this weekend and got busy on some projects. I printed the banner from this website and the girls and I cut, glued and hung the banner. I also scored this table which was about to be thrown out. It was that honey oak color to begin with and I primed, painted and silver-leafed the knobs. I adhered the jars to glass candlesticks with gorilla glue and made cute little apothecary candy jars. I think when the candy is depleted, I will fill them with beads or beans or something less tempting to little hands.
Thursday evening, I cast on this scarf and worked on it throughout general conference and finished it up Sunday evening. I love the 75/25 wool blend of this yarn. As you can see, I may have to make another one for Braelyn.
Check out this site where I found the recipe for these pumpkin creme pies! They have dozens of scrumptious recipes. Beware - these pies are really rich with the cream cheese filling but oh, so good!

I decided it was time for some updated Halloween decor around the house. My sister, Lisa, directed me to this tutorial for a darling ribbon wreath. It took some time to cut, sew and glue the ribbons, but I think the end justified the means.

Mother's Day

My girls made me cookie bouquets for Mother's Day (with the help of Julie!) There were two of them, but Braelyn's only made it home partially intact. I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

Spring is on its Way...

My hyacinths are great this year, although it appears that I will need to divide the bulbs. My flowers seem to come on a bit earlier than others in our neighborhood. Maybe it's a combination of the southern facing beds and rubber mulch that coaxes them into blooming early. These are just what I needed after a long, gray winter. Now if the sun would just shine...
